Cooperate! A poem

Feeling anger feeling hate

my body won’t cooperate

worked up to an anxious state

my body won’t cooperate

disability is tough

I give up, I’ve had enough

Life‘s not supposed to be this rough

my body won’t cooperate

can’t do things I need to do

my body won’t cooperate

people whisper, point at you

my body won’t cooperate

I don’t want to be a “gimp”

always walking with a limp

failing at every attempt

my body won’t cooperate

I don’t want to live this life

my body won’t cooperate

it’s too hard, there’s too much strife

my body won’t cooperate

people treat me differently

I show up…they want to flee

Can’t be who I used to be

my body won’t cooperate!
